The Palms Resort is in a quiet corner of Sunset Crest, St. James on Barbados` west coast, a leisurely ten minute stroll from Holetown. A combination of two sister properties, the Halcyon Palm and the Travellers Palm, the Palms Resort is a popular choice for singles, couples and families looking for affordable Barbados holiday accommodation. Everything you could want whilst on holiday in Barbados, including beaches, restaurants, duty free shops, water sports, tennis and golf are all within a ten minute walk of the Palms Resort. There are also plenty of taxis and a bus stop on the main road, so if you wish to explore a little further afield it is no problem.
Halcyon Palm is the larger of the two properties and was refurbished in 2006. It has 25 one bedroom self catering apartments which are dotted around a central pool area in a beautiful tropical garden. Travellers Palm, the smaller of the two properties, was refurbished during the summer of 2007 and has 16 self catering one bed apartments, all with pool or garden views. The apartments in both are elegantly furnished and have a vibrant, tropical feel. Fully self contained, each apartment has a kitchenette with a fridge and a stove, air conditioning and a furnished terrace where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine. The Palms Resort has an inviting swimming pool where you can enjoy a cooling dip before settling back on a lounger on the poolside terrace to catch some sun, read a book or just enjoy a snooze.
Sunset Crest is a good choice for self caterers as it is home to one of Barbados's largest supermarkets and also has a 24 hour convenience store. There are also plenty of duty free shops for jewellery, clothing, cameras and souvenirs to take home, or you can make the 15 minute trip north to Speightstown, or south to the main shopping area of Bridgetown. The beaches along the West Coast are the calmest and whitest on the island – perfect if you are traveling with small children, or you are a lover of water sports. The golf in this area is also superb with the famous Sandy Lane Golf Club and Green Monkey Golf Course nearby and the excellent Royal Westmoreland Golf Course ten minutes away from the resort.
