Located in a quiet side street, the hotel is very close to Corfu town's historic Spianada and guests have easy access, by foot, to all the important sites and attractions of Kerkyra: the Liston, the two great fortresses, the museums, and Corfu town's fine restaurants, shops and cafes. The hotel, housed in a gloriously restored neo-classical mansion, is an oasis of calm in the heart of Corfu's vibrant capital. Originally the 19th-century residence of one of the island's prominent families, in the 20th century the edifice served as a consulate, the National Bank of Greece, and a lyceum for Corfiot schoolgirls. In 1988, the apricot-hued stately home became a hotel known for the Most Serene Republic and in 2006 it was lovingly renovated to serve the needs of third-millennium guests from the world over. The hotel comprises 32 rooms with ancient charm, yet fitted with all comforts of modern life.
