The NH Doelen is Amsterdam's oldest hotel and sits on the banks of the river Amstel from where it enjoys canal views and its own private boat landing. This 17th century hotel, in the heart of Amsterdam's historical city centre, has had a variety of famous and artistic guests including Queen Victoria, The Beatles and the Empress Sissi who even has a room named after her. Rembrandt painted the world famous 'Night Watch' on the third floor of the hotel. The NH Doelen is located between Rembrandt Square and Dam Square, just a short walk from the flower market and a variety of theatres and museums, including Rembrandt House, Rijksmuseum and the Jewish Historical museums, as well as many restaurants, cafes and the Red Light District.

Guests can enjoy breakfast in the NH Doelen's breakfast room while overlooking the Amstel River. For lunch and dinner the Schiller Brasserie, in the sister hotel NH Schiller, just the other side of the square, is a good choice for typical Dutch cuisine.
