S'Algar itself is small and purpose built and is best known for its sports facilities, which are considered to be the best on the island. There are a handful of shops in town but most shoppers will prefer making the short trip to the nearby town of San Luis and the capital Mahon. The area has a range of sports to try including windsurfing and horseriding. Mahon is the islands capital and has plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and things to see and do.
