The hotel is situated in Upper Strathnairn, on the B851. Inverness is only around 15-20 min away and Loch Ness is 13 km from the hotel.||This historical hotel was built in the year 1860, however the tradition of hospitality, offering lodging to travellers passing through the Strathnairn Valley dates back much further. History reports that the Macgillivray clan gathered here before joining the Battle of Culloden in 1746. Guests coming from the South take the A9 and turn left onto the B851 at the junction for Fort Augustus, around 8 km south of Inverness. From both directions continue on this road for around 12 km, until the hotel can be seen on the right-hand side.
