The hotel, which was built in 1816 and renovated in 2006, comprises a total of 32 rooms on 2 floors and a garden. In 1920 it was converted into the elegant countryside hotel it is today. A good number of its original feature were preserved or renovated. The decoration retains its traditional charm with elaborate ceilings and a large wood-panelled stairway. Guests can relax in the elegant lounge with its original Adams hearth, surrounded by antique furniture. Here they can enjoy peace and quiet and the reminiscence of bygone years. In the hotel there is a bar and a restaurant with a magnificent selection of culinary delights, from light lunches to elegant dinners. Room and laundry services complete the range of amenities on offer. There is also a playground and parking for those arriving by car.
Location
The hotel is located in the middle of a 32-hectare wooded area, with excellent links to the M74, as well as to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Visitors can make use of the numerous activities on offer in the area, including skating, fishing and shopping in designer outlets in nearby Gretna.
