This hotel was built in 1897 for a well known York mill owner. The hotel is situated just a ten minute walk from the centre of York and is perfectly situated for both the city and the surrounding countryside.The restaurant offers a different menu each evening, offering a selection of either English or continental cuisine. There is also a bar which offers snacks throughout the day, and is decorated in an art nouveau style.The hotel is a country manor house and is covered in Ivy, adding character to the building.The lobby is small but very elegant, and features many fine examples of art nouveau decor. There is a magnificent oak staircase and Gallery with original stained glass windows, fine oak panelling, frescoes and murals.A well located hotel, ideal for both groups and individual.
