Poland is a Central European country which borders the Baltic Sea. With mountains and lakes, forests and national parks, historic cities and ancient monuments, it is easy to see why its tourist industry grows year on year. Although it suffered much destruction during the last war, many of its cities have well-preserved medieval centres. Where there was damage, these town centres have been lovingly and faithfully restored.
